home contact I like to sit and stare at the characters in my paintings. There are instances when I feel such a deep connection to the people that live in the work. I find them beautiful. The blend of colour, the folds of paint over paint, the brush stroke, the balance. Moving the paint until it settles in place and takes form. Working to capture a moment in time that is quiet and still. When it all comes together and I can look at the people and have them look back me, I am satisfied. The work is complete. Over the past ten years I have regularly exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Toronto, Amsterdam and New York. My work has been well received and can be found in private collections across Canada, the USA, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany and India. Prior to my pursuit of a fine art career, I spent fifteen years working in the music industry as a marketing and creative affairs specialist. During this period, I spent two years living and working in New York. While in New York, I involved myself in photography and became a prolific illustrator. I left the city with a large body of work, a couple of gold and platinum records and the desire to put paint to canvas. Steve Sechi
